Okay, so right by the phone booth where you can go to the survival world, those shops used to be open and you could sell stuff. Has that moved, or am I missing something? I'd really like to be able to make some money, I died and lost a lot of stuff, including almost all of my money awhile ago.

Yes, those have closed down. You can now make money by killing mobs around the castle, and by selling stuff to various player-owned-shops around london/diagon. :3 @StormSong7
