So I know think it's obvious why Hermione Granger didn't get put into Ravenclaw. Ravenclaws aren't the "smartest" people. There the ones that value intelligence more. In the 1st book it proved she was a Gryfindor and wouldn't be Ravenclaw from this line: "Books and Cleverness? There are more important things. Friends and Bravery." I know lots of people already know this just I think its cool breaking down all the facts. It showed she valued more emotional things then being intelligent.

I think most people have the potential for more than one house. Harry could've been in Slytherin, Ron could've been in Hufflepuff, and Hermione could've been in Ravenclaw. If they wanted to be in those houses, I imagine the hat would've obliged, but they all leaned towards Gryffindor.
