Hey - So I think it could be awesome to have an "Unsupported Flight" spell added.

The spell is canon and allows the user to fly without a broom or anything.

It was invented by Lord Voldemort and used in the battle of the seven potters amongst others.

I think it could be more or less the same experience as flying the broom, just by holding your wand after casting.
practicing it would make you able to sustain flight for longer and longer.

Possibly some black particle effects could be added?

"Volatilis Libertas" - would be a suggested incantation, loosely translated from latin to "flying freely".

Why would we need this?

We won't - but the server is all about adding milestones, and if a student is skillful enough to learn how to use the spell it could be a great way to show skill on other aspects of spells than transfiguration and dueling spells.

I like this idea! Especially with the black particles, cause when Voldemort uses it in Deathly Hallows part 1, he is seen flying with black surrounding him.......its sooooooo cool

I'm all for this, but I'm curious how it would work with the no flying rule? Also,I think it should have a high backfire rate and a nasty backfire to boot, so it's harder for a First Year to leisurely fly around the server. :P

I think it should be a very high tier spell - after all the only ones seen using it are snape and Voldemort.
Also I guess it Would be illegal to use The spell indoors as with brooms.

Random capitalizations are my Phones Way of telling me to get a new one .-.

@Crane the spell you were talking about is actually a redepiction of Apparate done for theatrical purposes.  Read Quidditch through the ages.

Yeah, now that I think about it, the Death Eaters and The Order of the Phoenix use this as well, rewatch the end of OOTP and the beginning of HBP and DH1

As I said in the post below, it was in the MOVIES but it was an adaptation of the Apparation spell that looks cool in the movies, but in actuality is not realistic magic.  Please read the whole forum before replying to the starting post.
