Stuck in Towny

I don't really know if its because of my computer or anything on my end or not but I can't switch to the main world from towny. It began over a month ago but I got preoccupied with school and never came on. Whenever I use /switch it will show the loading screen, that its downloading terrain and then the Internal Exception: java.io.IOException:An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host

I've tried it multiple times and I just dont know whats going on. I tried looking up what the error means or any solutions but I havent came across anything that works. I don't know if there is anything to do about it.
