Drinking in Hogwarts?

So we came upon a debate amongst ourselves about drinking in Hogwarts. We came up with some options:

1. No drinking on school grounds, period.

2. Professors may drink on school grounds.

3. Graduated students may drink on school grounds.

Please vote in the poll, and if you wish to make your case, feel free to.

My opinion:

Why should Professors or anyone get to bypass the rule of no drinking on school grounds? Rules should apply to everyone or else there is no point to them. Professors and Graduates cannot fly inside, so why should they be able to drink? One argument was for the role play sense, Professors are adults right? Well, yes, but they are still students, and while Hagrid was drunk at his hut and the Hog's Head, neither of these are considered part of the castle itself. You didn't see anyone wander around Hogwarts drunk with permission, so we should not allow it.

That's my opinion, please feel free to state yours.

• Grads+professors
• *burp*

I personally think that Professors should be able to drink on the grounds, but they should keep it secluded, not in front of all the students. In the books, professors were allowed to drink on the grounds, because there wasn't a rule against it. It was just either a precedent that professors should:

a) Keep it private and on the down-low, or

b) Just don't do it out of habit.

 

That's just my opinion on this, and I think you know what my vote is :)

In real school, alcohol would not be allowed on the premesis by anyone.

2.Teachers don't get exceptions.

3.If teachers have it, students will somehow end up with it as well.

2. If teachers have it students will end up with it? You are forgetting alcohol is available in hogsmeade and in the leaky cauldron Regardless if the professors drink this is not a valid excuse.

 

My opinion: I Think professors and grad students should be able to drink but not in excess other wise it would be punishable via the head master. It allows a bit of role playing to the server instead of being insane strict on everything. Considering in hogwarts they were allowed to do it basically out of sight

I think maybe it should be allowed for professor's and graduated wizards, but only in private quarters like their offices, not in the hallways, courtyard, or classrooms. Why? Because at hogwarts, if a professor wanted to drink in their private chambers, they totally could. They should be able to drink in the great hall (NOT the entrance hall) because during the feast each year professor's were allowed to have wines and flasks.

We are not talking about real school, If we were... this would be a boring muggle server.

99% of the professors are also students if not 100% , which means even though they are 'professors' they are also students.
