-The Harrison Family-
The Harrison family originated in the country side of northern Europe. The Harrison's are a half-blood family, with a large diversity of members in all different houses. The earliest known
Harrison, was Merek Harrison. Merek was a Muggle-Born, born to Leo and Isabel Harrison. The Harrison's were a very prestigious family, but were few in numbers and dominated the village of Avebury. Merek grew up in Avebury, and he was educated by his father, rather than attending school, or receiving a tutor. Leo had attended Oxford University and had expected Merek to follow his legacy, and to expand the Harrison name. After many years of growing up in Avebury, Merek left to attend Oxford. 1 year into his studies of Theology, funded by his father, Merek left Oxford and returned to Avebury. He was shunned by his father who didn't speak to Merek for three years after the incident. Merek got his own home on the outskirts of Avebury, where he shut himself up for those three years. While Merek was shut away in his home, he discovered his ability to do small enchantments. While he tried to use his abilities to transfigure one object to another, he often failed. In his journal, Merek recorded that he once attempted to transfigure a loaf of bread into a flask, but it combusted into flames and nearly burnt all of his journals and studies on magic.(It is still unkown how he managed to set it on fire while practicing transfig) Although his transfiguration abilities where fairly poor, he continued to practice enchantments, where he greatly succeeded. (This is where Harrison's get their gift of enchantments, while their curse is transfiguration) After three years of practicing his abilities, he became very edgy from staying in his basement for three years. He eventually emerged to the village where he displayed his abilities for all of the town to see. After the crowd got over their initial fright, they were perplexed by Merek's ability. After Merek ran out of enchantments to preform, he tried his luck on transfiguration, hoping it would work, and amuse the crowd. He attempted to transfigure a cart of straw into whatever he could manage, but it too combusted, and burnt down a few thatched roofs. The towns people became very angry with Merek, and where going to drown his entire family in the lake for preforming witchcraft. In the mass confusion, Merek temporarily blinded the townspeople and escaped with his parents to northern england. There they lived in a small community, with a few other witches and wizards. Here they remained for the rest of their lives. Merek decided against putting the name of the village in his journals for safety purposes. Here they lived out the rest of their lives. Merek married a muggle and they gave birth to 3 children. 1 girl, and 2 boys; Isabel, John, and Henry. Isabel first attended Hogwarts in 1227, John in 1228, and Henry in 1229. All three of them where sorted into Slytherin house.
