I'm tier 4 and I think that the backfire on my current spells is perfect. However tiers that are higher than, say, Hogwarts level, are full of those who have worked hard to get where they are and generally are able to put in the time for it. It would be pretty irritating if someone went through all that work to get where they are only to have the work be less for those who come after them. Such as my apartments- I bought mine for 600 G and then a very short time later, the price became 350. Everyone else (Excluding Kaori and Jenni) had a super easy time. That's annoying. I would say, leave the backfire. Everyone should get the same amount of work, because then it wouldn't be fair to those higher up.

I feel that it should be possible if you try hard, but not impossible to everyone except @SelfieSheep xD. I think that it could be made a little bit easier but not too much.

@Thalli Take its the people who are the high teirs that want it to be reduced ....... we know we put alot of work to get where we are but its not that the difference between t8 and t9 is huge it goes from really easy to extremly hard theres no even balance yes its post to be hard i agree but not as hard as it is from t9 up when you first casting the t9 spell you could go a whole 45 mins without casting it once ....

Ik that it's just those who are higher up and that I don't get much say in it. I'm simply saying that in the end, those who have done all the work and have already finished the spells we are talking about might get irritated that no one else has to do what they've been doing. Lowering it a small amount could work well though, like what Bob said. I feel that it should be fair to all, but not by making things easy.

I've never had issue with spell backfire honestly, even when I just started tier 8 with confringo, it didn't take very long to reduce my backfire chances 0%

I haven't dabbled in higher tier spells, but I personally welcome the challenge.

So here's my opinion on this, it'll be relatively short.

I honestly thinks there should just be more Tier 9 spells in general, because there is only 1 that players are allowed to cast at the moment. But more Tier 9 spells are being added, so that's the end of they. Now you're wondering where backfire comes into this?

Right now, the backfire for Tier 9 is fine how it is, and Tier 10 is O.K but would be better suited to be reduced by about 5%. Tier 11 spells are insane in my opinion, though, and it shouldn't take you 2 hours to get 1 cast with it. Yes, they're powerful transfiguration spells, but 2 hours of spell spamming is just too much if you're not getting any results.

Also, backfire for Tiers 1-8 just shouldn't be reduced. They're already easy enough, and shouldn't be made easier.

I vote they stay the same. With practice, you'll very rarely backfire most spells as it is. I think if you want a powerful spell like Alarte or Confringo, you should be prepared to work pretty hard for it, we all had to, and everyone else can too.

Andrew, have you casted a Tier 9 spell? You're trying to compare them to Tier 7 and 8 spells, which have easy to overcome backfire.

Not even going to answer this, read the thread and you'll notice my stance on Tier 9+ spells is different. I'm honestly not going to give an answer to anyone who asks something like this because if they take time to read all my responses to the thread, they wouldn't be asking the question.

I did read all of your responses, and you're rather touchy for some reason.

You think that right now, Tier 9+ backfire is fine, but you changed your stance after rethinking it and looking at what others said.

And just saying, you never answered the question of "Have you casted a Tier 9 spell".

*sigh* Alright then I'll explain this hopefully for the last time. My original response was for backfire in general, and in general it is fine. Then the topic of Tiers 9+ came up, and I mentioned that it was supposed to be hard and then you guys mentioned it was a bit too hard, and I agreed it perhaps could be made a bit easier. I was never against T9-11 being lowered, I was neutral about it, didn't really mind either way.

No, I am not being touchy, I'm just fairly annoyed I have to repeat myself multiple times.

No, I never changed my stance, I was neutral for T9-11 and against 1-8 the whole time.

And if you really need to know, I have casted T9 spells before, yes it is hard, which is why I think it could be made a bit easier, however I do not nor have I ever considered it a must.

Additionally, please explain to me where I compared T7-8 to 9+, because I can't find anything that could be considered me doing so.

I agree with tier 1-8 remaining the same. Back when I was first practising those spells at those tiers I felt they required an appropriate amount of effort to cast well. I also see how new players that practise a lot don't take too long to ascend through the tiers and become capable casters, so it doesn't seem to pose a problem to me.

Since the great minority are tier 9+, I don't know if the backfire chance there gets as much attention, I really wouldn't know. But I guess those that have reached that point are more dedicated to practising and have a ready patience with difficult spells. Nevertheless, I also agree that the backfire chance is a bit too excessive; it could do with some reduction. Personally, though, I don't mind all that much right now. The problem would come in more when spells of higher tiers start presenting themselves a lot more, then it would be necessary to balance things out for appropriate tier scaling, otherwise reaching the highest tiers will be ludicrously arduous and simply unfair.

I think the problem really comes in with spells that have high cooldowns. Spells like that seem nearly impossible for those trying to cast them. There we can really see how balancing them is necessary.
