So I wanna put this debate to end once and for all, which is better, Pokemon Go or mainstream games?

I think mainstream games are better 100%, better gameplay, way less buggy, not pay2win, better battles, and you can actually fight other people live. Feel free to vouch for either side below! :)

The original Pokemon games(Red, Blue & a little later, Yellow) had a special feel to them. I will always cherish those above all else.
However I see the good things Pokemon Go does, despite its rather sloppy execution I believe it is one of the best trends to surface and to immerse a player into the game world as well as in the real world, forcing exploration and physical trips.
Pokemon Go is rebranded Ingress and where ingress was never the "insane success" The Pokemon world is just what the concept needs to push it into the next stage.

Pokemon mainstream games are better to my opinion. They bring back good memories from my first Pokemon Game to the next. The music is amazing and the intro. (I almost cried from playing the intro of Platinum because it's been so long.) I don't play them anymore though. I'm hyped for Sun and Moon (although I probably can't get it so rip)

By far, traditional games are better. Theres more content, and because you have to BUY the game with actual money, they can update it, and not make it pay to win

Definitely the traditional games, When i was very young i started playing pokemon blue/red etc, I remember they also sold walkthrough magazines in the store because completing the game without them was difficult. Back then you couldn't just hop on google or youtube for a quick guide or walkthrough. I've still got some of my old cartridges somewhere (pokemon gold, crystal and blue) that i don't really want to get rid of as they're from my childhood and on one of them i've got everything caught and a bunch of shiny pokemon on it.

I don't play pokemon go much myself but it's pretty cool i guess, there's just a lot more to the traditional games.

I don't play Pokémon games, but I do like the old versions because my older cousin (who is a complete nerd, in a good way <3) is always playing them, along with the LOZ games.
