Hello!

So, I had an Idea that a lot of you probably won't agree with or like.

Common Room Floo?

With The passwords to the common rooms, what if they each had a fire place connected to the Floo Network.

The floo Keyword would be the same as the password.

--I know with Ravenclaw; the riddle is there. But

either way, I think it would be an interesting                                                           feature (Especially if you don't have a /sethome or                                                       /home bed there)

It's just something to think about. Kind of popped into my head when I was trying out random words in the Fireplaces.

Thanks!

I believe this would defeat the purpose of having a password for the commonrooms, as people could just floo into the commonroom and create problems.

Floo also randomly sends you randomly to others if you don't know where you are going. and I am pretty sure the fireplaces canonly are not "Flooed up" :P

@Crane Sirius was able to floo into the Gryffindor common room to talk to Harry etc. I propose each common room has their fireplace connected to Floor, but with a permanent password that is separate to the door's password. This way, the password can be given in /house and the owners don't have to change it every two months.

If it is decided for floo to be put in commonrooms with passwords, then not changing them would change into everyone knowing the passwords, just like how the commonroom door passwords spread around in like a week. Personally, I'd think it would be easier if there weren't any. Besides, it will be more of a challenge, and encourage people to explore, and know their way better around the school.

If we do this, any sketchy random person could teleport to the common rooms... this would be a threat to child safety and parents would complain

If we are sticking to canonical senses, Sirius could only use the fireplace in head-form, like he couldn't use the floo to teleport there in person. Umbridge added Hogwarts to the floo system to allow travel to/from the Ministry- it was monitored though

@Lisa Flume Yes,

"As Sirius Black could use the fire to talk to Harry in fourth and fifth year, but in Harry's sixth year, a special arrangement had to be made from the Ministry to enable students to arrive at Hogwarts, it seems that head-only transport is possible even if human transportation is not. Otherwise, intruders, including Sirius Black, could simply use the fire in the common room to circumvent the castle's defenses."

So Maybe not that. I did read, however, that inanimate objects can be transferred over Floo.

Since it says " it seems that head-only transport is possible even if human transportation is not." Would that mean you can send inanimate objects without human transport?

I don't know of coding would allow this, but maybe you could send letters to the common rooms via floo, but not travel there yourself. And It would land in a hopper or something.

I'm not personally for or against the idea but I wanted to offer a solution for the whole intrusion thing: What if say a Ravenclaw tries to get into the Gryffindor fire, it automatically sends them to a random fire other than the other three House fires as if they misspelled the name? Or to put it simply, only allow House members to access the Floo for their Common Room.

@whiteNnerdy234 That does sound the Most Logical.

I personally don't have a home in my common room, but I do have Extra amounts of Floo. It would be a really helpful solution.

--Again Though, I don't know what coding allows.
