General Terms

Kicking/TempBan/mutes

Kicking or TempBanning people cannot be done for any reason except for strictly breaking the rules.  Personal vendettas or 'because I didn't like them' is not a reason.  If caught doing this you will lose all Moderator perms.  This also applies for muting.

Perma Mutes

Perma mutes are not to be taken lightly. They should really only be done by admins and, if done, the admin needs to notify an owner. If at all possible, ask an owner before perma muting any player.

Responsibilities

Moderators are responsible for escorting newbies around, making sure people obey the rules, and for being a go between between the server and the admins.  Their goal is to cut down any work that the admins/co-owner/owner are too busy to perform.  They should be the first people that respond to things, and should be the ones to help new people as soon as they are done with professor oak.  That means they need to pay attention to the class list.

Locations

You should be familiar with all major locations in the server and be able to escort students around the school without much trip up.  If you are unsure where something is, you should admit that you don't know, and search for another moderator or admin who does, and pay attention when the other person is escorted so you know where to go in the future.

Detention

You can only put people in Detention if there is specific call to.  Not because 'I felt like it'.  This sort of goes with the mute/tempban/kick rule.

Staff Conduct

When you accept this role, you accept acting like staff and refraining from doing any of the following acts: Posting anything negative about the server, globally arguing with other staff or about the server in global chat, breaking ANY rule that a normal user would follow, or being rude to members of the server in any form.  You are supposed to be a role model for this server, and unless you are SPECIFICALLY roleplaying, anything that is in this will be considered a breech of our conduct.  This can also include harassing students by 'trolling' and causing them to have a generally unpleasant time.

Helping New Players

When you see a new player join the server, someone needs to say in staff chat that they will help that person. A simple "I got him" can really clear up a lot of confusion. Also, every new player should be "called", you can't just leave some newbie to fend for themselves just because you think you're busy. It's your job.

When you're helping new players, you should be there with them. Do not try to guide them through starting through PMs or just say "do /helpop if you're confused", go to them. If they say they don't want/need help, fine, then you can leave. Otherwise, stay with them until they're ready to go on their own.

Staff Chat

Topics

Things talked about in staff chat could be 80% staff related. There can be some off-topic stuff, but keep it server-related staff stuff.

Arguments

There should be no arguments in staff chat. There can be friendly debates about staff stuff, but no one should be yelling, insulting, or just generally be aggressive towards other staff members in staff chat. You are expected to be mature when using this chat, and it will not be taken lightly if you use staff chat to attack other members or have a "freak out".

Staff Chat Is For Staff

Staff chat is only for the eyes of staff members. You are not allowed to screenshot, talk about, or quote conversations that happen in staff chat and show them to users unless for some reason an Owner tells you to. If you are caught sharing staff chat matters with regular users, you will be punished.

Special Perms

Tpa/tpahere

TPA is a perk of being a moderator.  When you are a moderator you are able to teleport to another user.  This is something that should not be abused, but if you use it amongst your friends or to help someone, we often over look this.  But it's a short trip from using it for fun and abusing it, so don't push it.

Broadcast

You can ONLY use broadcast for STAFF purposes.

Inventory See

You should only use this for staff purposes.

Feed

Can be given on request if the request seems reasonable.  This is also a perk of being a mod, you can /feed yourself.  This should be used mostly when you are escorting people.

For being moderator, there was an admin that muted me just because I casted blauflamma in the middle of a game of Exploding Snaps once...
